Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm GladwellIn this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of outliers--the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different?
His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing. Along the way he explains the secrets of software billionaires, what it takes to be a great soccer player, why Asians are good at math, and what made the Beatles the greatest rock band.

Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell is a great book that looks at what makes individuals successful. The book argues that the true story of success is very different, and that if we want to understand how some people thrive, we should spend more time looking at an individuals family, their birthplace, or even their birth date. The author presents a new way of looking at why people may or may not become successful. I very much enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it. Thank you for reading my review. I've always been wary of Malcolm Gladwell. I guess I found his instant pop-success with The Tipping Point and Blink a bit off-putting -- he was too trendy for me.
