“22 Short Films About Springfield”

It is about the untold stories of many people of Springfield, focusing mainly on recurring characters. Sanjay asks Apu to go to a party, so Apu leaves the store for the next five minutes. During this period, he eats a semi-cooked tofu dog, dances to the song "Freak-A-Zoid" by Midnight Star, has sex with a woman in a tool shed, and falls into a pool with other partygoers, therefore coincidentally breaking all the rules of his religion. He heads back to the Kwik-E-Mart with a minute to spare. He opens the door to the store, and discovers that Hans Moleman was inside during the four minutes, while Apu was away.

"TV Guide" Synopsis

We often fail to realize that the people we slot into the supporting roles in our own stories are doing just the same to us, and it becomes all too easy to skip over the part where everybody else is just as stuck inside of their own narrative as we are stuck inside of ours. All of those lives, rushing past us, stuck inside their own heads, trapped by their own perceptions. One of the big things the seventh season of The Simpsons does is show you just how thoroughly the series could be about something other than the family in the title. There are whole episodes where they barely appear. It was more assembled than written, a dozen people credited on the script and all of them taking very short scenes. That was the wonder of The Simpsons at the height of its powers. Burns on a bike ride.

Phil Hartman as Lionel Hutz and the hospital board chairman [1]. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on April 14, The episode was directed by Jim Reardon. The episode depicts brief incidents experienced by a wide array of Springfield residents in a series of interconnected stories that take place over a single day. The episode's concept originated from the end segment of the season four episode " The Front ", and serves as a loose parody of Pulp Fiction , which gave the staff the idea of a possible spin-off from The Simpsons. The episode received positive reviews from critics, and is noted for its popularity among fans.
