The Family Under the Bridge by Natalie Savage Carlson

This is the delightfully warm and enjoyable story of an old Parisian named Armand, who relished his solitary life. Children, he said, were like starlings, and one was better off without them.
But the children who lived under the bridge recognized a true friend when they met one, even if the friend seemed a trifle unwilling at the start. And it did not take Armand very long to realize that he had gotten himself ready-made family; one that he loved with all his heart, and one for whom he would have to find a better home than the bridge.

Armand and the childrens adventures around Paris -- complete with gypsies and a Santa Claus -- make a story which children will treasure.

The Man who Lives Under the Bridge

I'm a fairly cynical guy. I've been around long enough to become familiar with the routine of the homeless. I know how to avoid them and giving.

I sat in front of my hotel in Seattle, smoking in an upscale area of the city that made his presence all the more jarring in its unexpectedness and the unsettling discomfort of what it represented.

Wow! That's the way to start this blog. That's the only word I can think of at the moment actually. For those of you who know me, being speechless is not a word .

For those of you who know me, being speechless is not a word that suits me well. Today I am speechless! A gentleman came in today to get a loan. I unfortunately had to turn him down. Instead of getting up and walking out the door, he began to talk about his faith.

Reading Eagle: Susan L. The agency provided an apartment in the block of Washington Street. The Salvation Army helped Abe find housing and he and his cat, Girlie, now have an apartment in Reading. Photo by Susan L. The first thing Richard Abraham did when he stepped inside the narrow row home along Washington Street was cry. Abe, as he likes to be called, had dreamt about the moment for years. They were the far-off, wish-upon-a-star type dreams you don't dare think will ever come true.
